Greetings!

Well, after 6+ long years in the process, we are finally heading to Mongolia to bring home our little boy, Badaruugan. We are elated with the sudden progress and trusting in God to bring the process to His perfect completion.

This last week has been a whirlwind of information and planning. We found out that Badaruugan has a birth date of Oct. 25, 2008. This puts him almost exactly between Sarah (8/31/07) and Evie (1/25/10) in age. We could not have planned that better if we had tried! We were also finally given our travel dates and will be leaving on Friday, May 18 and returning (with Badaruugan Lilly!) on Sunday, June 9.

On Tuesday May 22, we will be meeting with the Mongolian INS to finalize the adoption with the Mongolian government. We are praying for continued favor during this meeting and, while immensely important by itself alone, are believing that God will use this for so much more than just the adoption.

We are still waiting for a date to be assigned with the US embassy in Ulaanbaatar (capital city of Mongolia) for the last immediate piece of the adoption to be able to return home with Badaruugan. They have said it can take up to 2 weeks, but our adoption agency says that it is usually 2-3 days. We are praying for expediency and a tearing down of any red tape or bureaucratic nonsense that might try to rear its ugly head! As these 'glitches' also increase costs, we are also praying for the finances to cover the last bit of these adoption expenses.

Once home, we will perform a re-adoption stateside to revise his name and finalize any loose strings. We look forward to (hopefully) having each of you meet Caleb Daniel Badaruugan Lilly, and sharing with you our adventures in life with him!

  2. I am so happy for you, and your post almost brings me to tears. We will arrive in Mongolia on June 12 to begin our two daughters' ancestral homeland tour. How I wish we were going to overlap! Your son is precious and as handsome as the day is long. My family will be thinking of you!
    Godspeed :)
